Weekend Ride on Elevated Hosur Road...

Sunday, 7 February 2010 Bangalore 11:00am

Exploring the engineering marvel of Bangalore!

After a stomach full breakfast at A2B, Adyar Anand Bhavan, at BTM, on a Sunday Morning, we were off to see the engineering marvel of B'lore, Bangalore Elevated Tollway on the Hosur Road.
With bad memories of Hosur Road traffic jam, still fresh in my mind, it was a pleasant surprise to see the smooth travel on the elevated road. As the flyover was inaugurated recently, there was no toll. Only the tall IT buildings, the clean sky of Sunday morning and flyover touching the horizon were part of the whole journey.

We started from Bommanahally end and the journey of 10km, with minimal speed took 20mins! (with added photo shoot in middle). On reaching the other end, near EC, we decided to extend the ride to Hosur. We were off to Hosur, via Chandapur, Attibele. We visited a Jain Temple near Attibele, Shri Parshwa - Sushil Dham, nicely built, well maintained, less heard temple. After crossing the Karnataka Border, the industrial town of Hosur is clearly to be seen with many well known companies like Ashok Leyland, TVS, ITC. We had a decent lunch at a road side Restaurant (Hotel Tamilnadu) in Hosur.
The return journey was not through the elevated road, as it was closed for maintenance work, so we took the old ground route. We reached back @ 3:30pm

Transport : My Pulsar 150, Yamaha FZ16 and Honda Activa
We : Jaanesh, Me, RV, Santhya and Vinay
Distance : Covered 90km
