When the bikes roared again, after a gap of 6 months, we were heading on Tumkur road. A quick planning by RV on Friday night, we were off to Siddara Betta and Devarayan Durg on a beautiful Saturday morning (this time really early at 6am). We took a pit stop at Dabhaspete @8 for tiffin.
Climb#1 Madhugiri Fort
Now Madurigi fort got added in our itinerary! about 60km from Dabhaspete, it is a fort built on second largest monolithic stone. We reached Madhugiri at 10 and started our ascent. It was a marvelous experience to climb a fort with all its nitty gritties unknown, with vertical climbs that has little support. But has to climb down without reaching the summit, missing it by 10 steps. But no regrets, as that height itself was big and was just a prelude to the things to come. We reached base camp at 12 and had a lunch at a hotel near Madhugiri bus stand.

Climb #2 Siddarabetta 23km
We took a deviation after 5 km from Madhugiri to reach siddarabetta. As the road is being laid, the journey was tiresome on a summer afternoon. Things got worse, when we realized,
we need to climb here as well. To our count we got 1000 steps to climb, some distance had to be trekked! A cave temple on top was our destination. When we reached top we were half fried and half baked! But it was a natures wonder that the cave had a cool temperature and chilling water source! For a nominal price you can get a 3 bucket holy bath :) in font of deity. After bath, we were re-energized, and it was like a fresh new beginning. The descent was smooth and reached our bikes at 4:30pm.

With proper sign boards on the way we could reach Devarayana Durga by 5:30pm, by which temple got closed. Except for few small stretches entire route was good. One could drive till top, leaving only few steps to climb. We climbed to top to see Giri NaraSimha temple, of course the doors closed. The nice pushkarni and setting sun kept us occupied for some time! Having churmuri, TumpsUp we bid adieu, to the day that go down in our memory as a thrilling day. We reached Bengaluru Mahanagari(our room) at 9pm after a dark night ride.
